Aqueous varnish, also known as an aqueous coating, is a fast-drying, water based coating used to protect your printed materials. It is the most popular coating in print, and can come in a matte or glossy finish. Unlike lamination, in which a thin layer of plastic is applied to printed material, an aqueous varnish is water based and more environmentally friendly.
